Dr. Zhiqiang Wan from the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), China, has recently received the prestigious Humboldt fellowship and will join the Institute for Steel Construction. The project is in collaboration with the Institute for Risk and Reliability under the leadership of Prof. Michael Beer. Dr. Zhiqiang Wan will develop a robust framework for reliability-based design optimisation (RBDO) of offshore jacket structures with a focus on performance of hierarchical uncertainty quantification (UQ) integrated with wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM).
