The Institute for Steel Construction at LU Hannover welcomes Maximilian Loewe, M.Sc. as a new research associate and PhD student. Maximilian has successfully completed his master thesis at the Institute for Steel Construction in cooperation with the Institute for Materials Science. His focus was on WAAM-printed iron-based shape memory alloys (Fe-SMA) and their characterisation. He worked intensively on wire drawing, parameter optimisation of the welding process and the production and characterisation of an Fe-SMA wall and couplers.
Building on this experience, he will now be working in the Collaborative Research Centre CRC1463: Offshore Megastructures, in particular in project area B07, where his research focuses on the optimisation and hybrid production of modular nodes for jacket support structures using WAAM technologies. The Institute wishes him a successful start and every success in his future research activities.
