Warmest congratulations to Christian Dänekas on the successful defense of his dissertation on November 27th, 2025. The title of his thesis is: Influence of deep rolling on the fatigue resistance of butt-welded joints. Inter alia the thesis provides novel methods for the automated characterization of weld geometry, enabling quantitative assessment of weld toe radii and angles based on scan data. After his presentation and a convincing disputation, the chairman of the doctoral committee Prof. Nackenhorst announced the successful completion of the examination with distinction.
