Design and Optimisation of a Novel Jacket Support Structure

In the context of the CRC project, this research will focus on establishing a numerical framework tailored for the comprehensive analysis of jacket structures. This framework will play a pivotal role in enhancing the existing digital twins within the CRC. The numerical model will incorporate critical inputs, including aerodynamic and hydrodynamic loads on the jacket structure, to ensure the novel design can meet the demands of larger turbines and deeper installations.
The project aims to improve material efficiency and structural performance by incorporating advanced design concepts. This includes the integration of optimized WAAM nodes to enhance durability and design flexibility, as well as the use of innovative slip joints to enable a modular jacket structure.
