On September 30th, 2022, Prof. Peter Schaumann's 26-year term as head of the Institute for Steel Construction will come to an end. During his time at the Institute since 1996, he has been able to push forward steel and steel composite constructions in Germany with numerous successful research projects, particularly in the areas of fire protection and support structures for offshore wind turbines. In addition, he has made a significant contribution to the future generation of engineers in the field of steel construction through his interesting courses for students and the support of his staff and doctoral students.
The Institute for Steel Construction would like to thank Prof. Schaumann for his valuable time as head of the Institute and wishes him all the best and especially health for the future!
